SHIFT: 01

'SHIFT' is an experimental zine created by TPOMT, attempting to make a living through their art. The goal is to determine whether they can earn an “hourly wage” as an artist by producing and selling art inspired by various workplaces, starting with McDonald's (the artist is not officially tied to McDonlads and is independent).

Each zine represents a "work shift" in a different location. The content of Shift 01 was created in 4.5 hours at McDonald's, with the aim of funding their dream (one shift at a time), and the zine was intended to reflect the median hourly wage of a McDonald's worker - which is actually too much to charge for a zine... Hence the cheaper price tag. SHIFT highlights the difficulty of sustaining an artistic career in today’s world, while walking a fine line of parody and hoping to not piss too many people off - as at the end of the day, everyone needs their paycheques - even the artist.
